University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus broke ground on a three-story, $24.6 million Health Sciences and Classroom Building that will allow expansion of programs in nursing and other healthcare careers. Scheduled to open spring 2019, the facility will eventually include a satellite operation of UHCL’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
Construction was made possible by a bill passed in the 2015 Texas Legislature, championed by state Sen. Larry Taylor and state Rep. Ed Thompson with support from Pearland Mayor Tom Reid, the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and Pearland Economic Development Corporation.
University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus will break ground on a $24.6 million Health Sciences and Classroom Building in a ceremony set for 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the campus located at 1200 Pearland Parkway, Pearland.
Scheduled to open spring 2019, the new three-story facility will allow UHCL Pearland Campus to expand enrollment to its health-science programs, notably the RN-to-BSN and Licensed Professional Counselor programs. In addition, UHCL has plans to include space in the new building for a satellite office of its Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
HOUSTON, March 22, 2017 — Be a part of history as University of Houston-Clear Lake breaks ground on two new buildings at UH-Clear Lake and one new building at UH-Clear Lake Pearland Campus. The facilities will help meet the growing needs of area communities and future workforce.
It’s time once again for Ron Carter Clear Lake Cadillac Hyundai to step up and acknowledge the future leaders from the Greater Clear Lake Area High School community.
As in the past, Ron Carter Clear Lake is proud to honor and support these seniors by awarding five college scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Outstanding students will be selected beginning in March and ending in May. Applications will be accepted February 1st, 2017 through April 30th, 2017.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors in Clear Lake and surrounding areas of Clear Creek ISD, Alvin ISD, Deer Park ISD, Pasadena ISD, Dickinson ISD, LaPorte ISD, Pearland ISD and Friendswood ISD. Students from parochial and home schools within the boundaries of these districts are also eligible.
Recipients will be chosen based on academic achievement, character, leadership and community service. Scholarship applications and detailed instructions can be found here.
